Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that focuses on flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. Pilates uses controlled, flowing movements to boost core strength and lengthen and stretch all of the major muscle groups in a balanced way. The exercises are done on the floor or using specialised equipment for resistance.
Pilates suits everyone from elite athletes to people with low fitness levels or limited mobility. We offer clinical pilates sessions, as well as self-directed sessions in our Pilates Pod.
Clinical pilates focuses on posture, core strengthening, focus, balance, control, strength, breathing, and flexibility. It is often used in combination with other therapies to help you recover from injury or illness.
Our one-on-one clinical pilates sessions are run by qualified neuro-physiotherapist, Megan Hamilton.
The Pilates Pod
The Pilates Pod is the ideal self-directed option for pilates enthusiasts who are finding it tricky to get to scheduled classes.
At times that suit you, you can use the Pilates Pod’s private space and state-of-the art equipment. You can follow a program online, use your own program or update it with the support of one of our qualified instructors. You might even want to add in some neuro-pilates to enhance your mind and body awareness.
This Pilates Pod is available six days a week ($25/hour or $40/hour for two friends).
