Autumn is the perfect time to start boosting your immunity and preparing to fight the winter bugs.
Here is an easy, fresh tea you can make at home and the whole family can enjoy.
What you need:
1 heaped tablespoon of fresh ginger
1 cup water
Dash cayenne pepper
How to make it:
Peel and chop the fresh ginger into chunks – make sure you don’t cut them too small or you will end up with floaties in your tea! Just chop them enough to release the flavour.
Bring water to the boil and then wait a minute before pouring – perfect for those who get distracted mid cup of tea making.
Place the ginger into a large mug and pour water over it, leave to steep for 2 minutes to allow all the flavour to release.
Once the tea is cool enough for you to sip, squeeze in the lemon juice and add 1 – 2 (no more) shakes of cayenne pepper.
*If you find this tea is not sweet enough you can add a small amount of honey to sweeten.
This tea is great for boosting immunity throughout the year or to take at the first sign of a sniffle.
